- Boil 3-4 cups of Moong dal in the cooker and pressurise for 2 whistles.
- Grind and keep 2 medium tomatoes, 2 tsp of coriander powder, some red chillies, a small piece of ginger, cumin seeds or powder and garam masala.
- Melt 100g butter in a pan and fry 3 sliced onions with cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.
- Add the ground masala and fry for 15-20 mins.
- Add the boiled Moong dal and add water to make the gravy.
